Your e-mail to me when I ordered a catalogue brought a little chuckle when
you stated that some of your customers had used their brush for 20 years and
prompted me to tell you my story.
In 1954, shortly after my husband and I had just moved into a little two
bedroom, cement floored, washing machine on a patio slab off the kitchen in
Phoenix with our two babies, the youngest being about five months old, a
Fuller Brush Man (the first one I had ever encountered) knocked on my door
selling his wares. Having honest-to-God Betty Grable blond shoulder length
hair, and no decent brush (or anything else for that matter, except my
family), I could not resist the temptation to buy one from him, although I
could ill--afford it at any cost. He was a crackerjack salesman, you see.
First , he insisted I needed a real boar brush but after receiving it, I
discovered it would not penetrate my rather long , thick , and extremely
fine strands, so he graciously exchanged it and, on his next visit, brought
me a very elegant nylon brush, and the only one I have used since that
time, along with a matching Stanley comb.
Oh, the stories that brush could tell over the years! I managed to
confiscate it from our three children, and a grandson whom we raised, as
each left home for the last time. They all managed to get away with a few
prized goodies, but not my BRUSH, Please!
More often than I can remember, it was a race as to which would last the
longest, me or the brush , but I am most happy to report that I won out. My
hair is long once again, worn in a bun most of the time, and is mousy brown
with a few gray strands. The bristles of my brush are weak, thin and bent,
as are my bones, but we both survived a lot of close brushes. The handle
even has a long scar on it where I laid a hot curling iron when traveling,
as I did not want to mar the motel bathroom counter, and had no where else
to put it (a very dumb thing to do). The comb has only one tooth missing;
far more remaining than I.
At any rate, upon receiving my second, and I am sure my last, Fuller hair
brush, I intend to bid my old faithful well-used one a final farewell by
sending it to you as a testimony to my sworn statement about its 45 years of
faithful service. All of our kids have their own fancy brushes (drawers
full, I am sure) and our little poodle, whom I used to brush with it, has
been buried for many years now, and I don't know what else to do with it. I
can't bear just to throw it away.
Why do I feel the need for a new brush now? Well, I have once again grown
my hair long-as my husband likes it much better that way, I have been
faithful to my God, my country, my family and my hair so--I'M WORTH IT! Your truly Mrs Sue Driscoll |
| Dear Mr. Wynn, I am looking forward to the catalogue. As a child growing up in Ks. during the 50's, my mother bought a lot of products from Fuller and Stanley, so I have not forgot the quality of the merchandise. Fuller was door to door and Stanley was the home parties. Glad I found you on the internet. I am looking for the Lady Catherine brush and I believe Stanley still sales it. Thanks, Reba |

I'm looking to replace a hair brush purchased 25 years ago. It's been the best brush! It was a gift from my
grandmother. I've tried to replace it with items in the stores, but none work as well as this! Even with half of
the brissels missing! It has a plastic blue-green handle and all nylon brissels. It says "Stanley" on it. There is a
molded split in the handle. Old product, I know. But I really would like to replace it. Please send me your Fuller Brush & Stanley
catalog of personal products - hair brushes. Thanks. Joan |

We are a family who have enjoyed the fine quality of your brushes for
more than a generation. I'm so glad to have found you online as we need
some new brushes for the next generation. Looking forward to receiving your
catalogue. So sick & tired of the junk sold in most department & retail
stores but want the quality that I remember from "Fuller Brush"! Mrs Oscar A Klitin |
| Dear William, I have been using the same hair brush for over 35 years. Although I can't find the exact same one in the catalog I did find a simular one #531. Can this one possibly be of the quality? Last time I checked them out, quite a few years ago, they were much more expensive. I'm in great need of one since my is getting in very poor shape. Look forward to hearing from you. Thank you, Geri Madsen |
| Actually, my Grandmother Mee Mee bought my sister, my mother and me very nice wooden brushes with boar bristles years ago and I was looking to see if I could get any like them from you. I am looking forward to your catalog. Kimberley |
| Thanks Mr. Wynn for your reply. I've had the pleasure of using Fuller Brushes for years and wondered if they were in business so I tried to find Fuller on the web and found they were. I'll be glad to see the catalog. I bought my last product many years ago(a vegetable brush) and it needs replacing. Ican remember when I was little the salemen coming to our door am glad I found Fuller again. I'll definitely check out your website catalog and see if I can order from that too. Thanks again! | Thank you so much, I look forward to getting the catalog. I have had my last brush for over 30 years and it is still in great shape but starting to show wear and I wanted to replace it, BUT NOT with those modern things I keep seeing everywhere. My hair is waist length, very thick, and needs a brush that penetrates the mass. Those new types just loose their teeth/brisles, they are the pits. The one I currently have is the plastic type handle with plastic type brisles and is great (1/2 round) and that is what I wish to continue using. Thank you for your quick response. Mary Young |
| Hi Bill, Thanks for the nice e-mail. I plan to order a mop head replacement tomorrow and I will be sure to give them your number. I started using Fuller 35 years ago because my mother did and said how good they were. My clothes brushes etc. are still good, my mops are not too bad but I bought a couple of each so I could rotate them. My poor sister is hanging on to her last dry mop for dear life. If their quality has not changed you could not make a better investmant. Thanks again. Faith McSparron |
| I have used Fuller hairbrushes since I was a baby (45+ years), and need one for myself and daughter - i look forward to receiving the catalog! (My mother used to get a salesman at her door every year!!! Sydney |
| Thank you for the nice e-mail! I'm looking forward to receiving the catalog in the mail. My Granddaughter & I think our hair brush is like the black Naturals Commander---A4002. Because the handle has a hole in it like ours. Do you think they might have changed colors over the years. The white one describes it better, because the bristles are stiff. The brush is like new, and must be 30 to 40 years old. I'm 61 and remember the "in home" parties my Mother used to have and go to. Degreaser was another popular product with us. It seems like I remember the clear acrylic brush also. ---------------Those were the Good Old Day's--------------- Thanks again! ~~ Margaret ~~ |
| I have this brush. At least it looks like the same one. It is Stanley. I have had it for 36 years. I love it . My granddaughters hair is real curly. This brush works great. I love it. In fact I use it on all of my granddaughters when they come out. Gets out tangles without hurting. Thanks for such a good product. I even wash it in the washing machine. And remember I have had it 36 years.....Nerven |
I have a fuller brush that I have had for years and my daughter wants one for herself and four girls this is a very good brush and after 20 years still holding its shape and the brissels are still very stiff. Loretta
I have been using fuller products since about 1962 or there about and I still
have some brushes that are about 20 years old, the others my kids have married and takn their brushes with them. I would like to see your
catalog and see if I can find my favorite ones. Vanessa Mendez
Hello my name is Jim Whitcomb and I have been using one of your hair brushes for
over, I think it is over 50 years ( I am now 63) My mother purchased two
brushes. She gave one to me when I was very young. My mother past away four
years ago, I now have two brushes. I do not know when she bought the brushes.
Perhaps you can tell me when and for how long your made this wonderful, long
lasting brush?
The brush is nylon, off white, bristles are in a quarter round and are same
color as the handle. The handle has a slot in it. I just wanted to tell you what
a wonderful product you made. It is mind boggling to think any thing to day
could last over 50 years and still give good service with only a weekly
cleaning.
Again... thank you
whit
I work in a flower shop and we use the push broom with the boar hair bristles to
clean up at the end of the day, sometimes we have a huge mess of greenry after a
busy day but it never fails to clean our floors, it is a wonderful product that
lasts and lasts the one we use currently is about 15 years old, I just bought me
a new one off of Q-VC today, your products certainly do stand up to the test of
time Thanks for making products that are always quality Tammy Wright
I bought this brush (with handle) about 1958 when I worked for y ou in Mpls. It
has been a workhorse, but about a year ago the handle began to bleed an oily
substance - strange. Perhaps a miracle? I'm joking. But then the handle
began to disintigrate - crumble - and then broke, so I cut the handle off.
But now I find that the main part of the brush is beginning to do the same
thing. I fear tht I shall soon be without this fine article! And I
need it for another 20 years. I wonder if your engineers might like to
have this as a matter to study. I can't imagine why this should happen to
a fine Fuller product....in so short a time! I'd be glad to send it to you if
yhou will give me your address. And I should be very happy to have
replacement. I'llbe 82 on Aug. 14, so have a long way to go and have a pretty
good head of hair, but still needyour good brush. (Did you enjoy this? I
did - but I am serious, too).Thank you! Wayne B. Barthel
